The lobby is the waiting room
On a mini-game server, you usually land in a lobby first, sometimes called a hub. That's where you meet other players, pick a game and wait for a match to start. Menu items, NPCs and commands differ from one network to another, so read what's shown on screen rather than copying a command you saw elsewhere.
On Origins, the hub follows the same idea: you choose a mode, then wait while the match gets ready.
Read the rules before joining
Before you click, look for three things:
- The win condition: last one standing, best score, an objective to capture…
- Eliminations: what takes you out of the match, and whether you can come back.
- The format: solo, duo or teams.
Two modes with similar names don't necessarily share the same rules. For UHC, the guide Getting started in UHC and UHC Run covers preparation in detail.
Waiting for the start
A match often starts once a minimum number of players is reached, or after a countdown. The scoreboard on the right of the screen and the chat messages show how the wait is going. No need to click ten times: it doesn't reserve a spot and it won't speed up a server that's loading its map.
Playing as a team
Agree on a few short messages to find each other and split roles. Follow the server's rules on groups, outside voice chat and what an eliminated player is allowed to say. If in doubt, ask before assuming help is allowed.
After the match
Wait for the result and the return to the lobby. If something looks wrong, note the mode, the time and what you were doing: a precise report helps far more than a plain "it's bugged". Never share account details in a report, and avoid screenshots that expose private conversations.
Honestly, every server has its own rules: a few seconds of reading saves you plenty of surprises.
